Vic Turner died on June 19, 2008
Family, friends, and members of the Crescent City Coin Club mourn the loss of Vic Turner.
Vic was a Past President of the Crescent City Coin Club, served on the Board of Governors, and a club member since June 1994.
He was a loving husband to Mary and distributed gifts at the Christmas Banquet.
Vic Turner and Rick Demers operated The Coins & Collectibles Shop in Kenner, Louisiana.

Pat Reno presenting Vic with an ANA award for distributing Christmas gifts as "Nippy" Santa's Helper
My prayers are with Mary Turner and her sons for the passing of her husband and their father, Vic Turner. My earliest memory of Vic was at the Coinival Show in 1996 when I met him at the first coin show I ever attended. At that time, he was the Club President and I found him to be a consummate ambassador for the club and hobby. He renewed my interest in the hobby and inspired me to join the club. Vic was amazingly well organized and always had good ideas. He will be missed by the many people who knew him.

2nd Annual Crawfish Boil on April 24, 2008
The cost was only $20 per person and there was boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, boiled potatoes, and corn on the cob. The price even included beer and soft drinks. To top it off, Ruth served an outstanding cake!
Spouses and guests were welcome.

Cent Redesigned The U.S. Mint is introducing new designs for the Lincoln cent in 2009.
2009 is the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent.
Did you know that in 1909 when the Lincoln cent was introduced, it was controversial? It was the first time that someone who actually lived was depicted as Liberty, the required device on the obverse of all United States coinage.
